Thursdays are long. And busy. My day starts with a 3-hour chemistry lab at 7:30 in the morning. Then I have a couple of other classes after and work until 5. It's a pretty hefty day, but this past Thursday an evening calculus exam was added to the mix.
My mind was pretty full that day. I had a couple of long assignments due the next day and I was incredibly nervous for this exam, because not to be dramatic but, our last calculus exam was the hardest math test I have ever taken (and usually math comes naturally to me).
My shift ended at 5 and my exam started at 6:30, so I decided to stay for Daily Mass. Turns out, it was the feast day of Saint Albert the Great, the patron of scientists, philosophers, medical technicians, natural sciences. Pretty fitting for me! He is a doctor of the church and was the master of Saint Thomas Aquinas (also one of my favorite saints). You should read up on these two. They're pretty cool.
The homily was about wisdom and all of the great and intelligent things that Saint Albert did. It was perfect preparation for my exam!
With my mind cleared and heart centered, I was ready to crush this exam.
And I think I did!
You never know what you can get out of a daily Mass every now and then!
